This number I will round to the nearest 10th and turn into a letter grade as follows:

If you miss a quiz or test you can make it up if either it was a dire emergency or if both it was unavoidable and you let me know well in advance. Make-up's are at my convenience, and will be no easier than the original.

While most classes I will give problems from the book to practice on, I will not collect or grade these. I will keep grades on mathonline, so please create an account (if you had one last semester you still have one and it should be in this class automatically.

Academic Honesty:

When you submit work to me to be graded, I take your name on it to be a promise that it represents your work. If that promise is broken it is plagiarism, and an offence I will treat as very serious. Cheating on a test generally results in failing the course and a permanent note on your record, cheating on a quiz may be treated slightly less severely. On quizzes and tests I will sometimes allow things like a page of notes, but will say this clearly ahead of time, and otherwise you are not permitted to get help from anyone but me under any circumstances (you are always encouraged to ask me questions). Despite my clueless demeaner, I have an excellent track record of catching those who stray from the path of academic honesty, and it is always a painful process for everyone involved.
